2010 TRYOUT and PRACTICE INSTRUCTIONS
(updated Feb 24 @10:30 pm)

ALL PLAYERS are to report to the first day of tryouts/practice on Monday, March 1st at Players Indoor facility (1740 Quincy Avenue) in Naperville near the intersection of Ogden and Quincy Avenues. Tryouts/practice will start at 4:00 pm sharp, so be at Players by 3:45 to get your gear on and ready to practice. Make sure you have all your gear (helmet, gloves, pads, cup, mouth guard). Players Indoor DOES NOT ALLOW CLEATS on their turf, so turf shoes or tennis shoes need to be worn for indoor practice. Returning players should bring their practice penny from last season. New / replacement pennies will be delivered in the next few weeks.

On Monday evening, players will be contacted by the coaches to inform them which team they will practice with for the next few weeks. Players selected to play on Varsity or JV will practice according to the "indoor schedule" below with possible supplementary times for conditioning:

Indoor practice times (after March 1st, coaches will let players know when and where they will be practicing.  Teams not practicing at Players Indoor will practice at Lincoln Jr. High or at Nike Park):

Tues. 3/2 4-6
Wed. 3/3 5-6:30
Thurs. 3/4 5-6:30

Tues. 3/9 4-6
Wed. 3/10 5-6:30
Thurs. 3/11 4-6
Fri. 3/12 5-6:30

Sat. 3/13 10-12
Sat. 3/20 10-12

Frosh (freshman/sophomore) team practice will be outdoors at 5:00 pm for 30 to 60 minutes at Lincoln Jr. High Tuesday and Wednesday (March 2nd and 3rd), depending on the weather. There is a large piece of blacktop at LJHS that remains clear of snow that will be used until the field is usable. Dress appropriately for the weather. After March 3rd, the Frosh practice schedule may be adjusted and Frosh coaches will inform players of any changes.

In order to tryout or practice, players must have registered with the team, paid their registration fee, and submitted all paperwork to Carol Abrams (543 E. Hillside, Naperville) before walking onto the field. Board members and coaches will have a list of players who are eligible to practice. If you still have a form to submit, please turn it into Carol Abrams as soon as possible. Especially important are the physical and Athletic Permission (Blue Card) forms which must be on file with the school before a player can participate in any sport.

By the end of this weekend, each team’s game schedule will be posted on the club’s website at http://www.redhawkslacrosse.org/Calendar.html. Some the games are still subject to change and we'll inform you as those are finalized. Once you (or your son) are selected to a team, you can follow that team’s game schedule for the season on the website.

If you have any questions, please email Coach Blake Zinn at bzinn@naperville203.org or call Gary Denklau at 630-637-1712. Thank you.

P.S. Please bring your Fall and Winter workout sheets from the fall informational meeting with you to the first day of practice at Players Indoor. One of the coaches will be collecting them.
